Art Students shortlisted for John Downton Award

The art department is pleased to announce that Maya Cumber, Isabelle Green, Lilia Jones, Florence Kazi and Eliza Thompson have all been shortlisted for The John Downton Awards. Their work will be exhibited at The County Gallery, County Hall, Maidstone from 26th January until March 2026 where visitors are welcomed to view. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 11th February 2026.

The John Downton Awards were first organised in 2000 at the request of Miss Hilda Downton – sister of the celebrated Kentish artist, poet and philosopher, to recognise the achievements of the young artists of Kent in the fields of painting and drawing.
