The Admissions to Secondary School in 2027 is administered by Kent County Council for those parent/carers living in Kent and the process can be found at:
www.kent.gov.uk/secondaryadmissions
Your Kent Test Results are In - You now have till Monday 2nd November to submit your school preferences by completing the online Secondary Common Application Form (SCAF) via your Local Education Authority (KCC in Kent).
Child assessed as suitable for Selective/Grammar School
As the Local Education Authority (KCC in Kent) look at your preferences in the order you place them on the SCAF if your child wishes to join us then you MUST put CHATHAM & CLARENDON GRAMMAR SCHOOL dfe no: 886 5462 first. You may wish to complete a Supplementary Form if you are applying under certain criteria. Please see the information, including the form for completion, under Admission Arrangements heading below.
Child assessed as suitable for High/All ability School
You should include High/All ability School preferences on your SCAF as your child cannot be considered for a grammar school place. However if you wish to appeal to us at the earliest possible time then you should place us as a preference on the SCAF. Please note that it does not matter where you put us, as the Local Education Authority will just ignore the grammar preference when allocating your child to a high/all ability school.

Appealing for Year 7 September 2027 -You cannot appeal until 1st March 2027, at the earliest.
We are holding Appeal information Meetings at the Chatham Street Site on Monday 19th October at 4pm and Friday 23rd October at 1pm - no need to book please just arrive for the start time. Please note that you only need to complete a supplementary form if you are applying under the Medical/Social Needs or Pupil/Service Premium criteria detailed on the form.
IN YEAR ADMISSION APPLICATION
Change of process from 7th September 2026 - Please note that we no longer accept applications direct to us.
For all applications for Year 7 to 11, you will need to complete an In Year Application Form which can be found on the Kent County Council Admissions website at
www.kent.gov.uk/education-and-children/schools/school-places/move-to-a-different-school
On receipt of a completed application from Kent County Council Admissions as above you may be sent a test appointment letter, by email, for your child to come into our school and sit our admission test. Details on the test can be found in the Admission Arrangements for the Academic Year you are applying for above.
Following the test you will be sent our decision letter, by email, which will include details on the next step in the process including admission or appeal. If a test is not required you will receive our decision letter within 10 school days of receipt of an application.

APPEALS - including for Sixth Form
Please note that you can only appeal to the school if you have made an application which has subsequently been turned down. For information on all appeals to our school following an unsuccessful application from 28th February 2026 until 27th February 2027 please click on our Appeal Timetable below.
To appeal please email the Admission Registrar at registrar@ccgrammarschool.co.uk stating your child's full name, date of birth, home address and reasons for your appeal.

For Information:
Nearly New Uniform - we no longer hold a stock of second-hand uniform however the Schoolwear Centre in Margate now maintains a 'bank' of donated blazers, jumpers and skirts. The Uniform Bank can be accessed from their website: schoolwearcentre.net where you can search and pay for items under CCGS Preloved Uniform.
Parent/carers can either donate items direct to the Schoolwear Centre or bring them into any of our School Receptions for us to pass on.
Please note that the bank does not stock PE items. Our PE Department keeps a small stock of donated items which students can use.
