Brazilian Education Ministers visit CCGS

During the summer holiday, we were honoured to welcome the Brazilian Education Ministers to our school as part of a special visit to learn more about the opportunities available to international students in the UK.

We were one of only a small number of schools selected to host this fantastic opportunity. The visit was particularly significant as the Brazilian students joining us have been awarded prestigious scholarships, recognising them as some of the country’s highest-achieving students. They will spend up to four months experiencing life as sixth form students, joining our Year 12 students this September.

The Ministers were incredibly impressed by the scale of our school, as well as the outstanding facilities, opportunities and experiences available to our students. They were particularly interested in the culture and structure of the transition from secondary education into university, further education or employment.

They greatly valued the role of sixth form as a safe and supportive space where young people can develop independence, build confidence and learn the essential life skills they need to take their next steps into adulthood. We were delighted to showcase how our students are encouraged to grow academically, personally and socially, while being supported within a nurturing environment.

We are incredibly proud to welcome our Brazilian scholarship students this September and look forward to seeing them become part of our school community, sharing experiences and cultures with our students and making the most of everything our sixth form has to offer.
