Physical Education and Sport is at the forefront of the school and has built a fantastic history and reputation over the years. The school continues to participate in a number of sports including Rugby, Football, Hockey and Cricket all of which lie deep within the school’s House system and excel through to our school sides who compete against other schools around the county.

Sport is a crucial and exciting part of life at Chatham and Clarendon Grammar school as we encourage all students to participate in as much as they can. This is as for the Physical Education team, sport is not only a platform for us to succeed and excel in, but also a tool for improving and maintaining health and wellbeing, assisting in developing team building and communication skills along with providing us with the self-esteem and confidence that we promote here at the Federation.

Chatham and Clarendon Grammar School is noted for its sporting achievements, particularly in our major sports of hockey, rugby, netball, athletics and cricket. We are proud to say there are spectacular successes at all ages and abilities, with students having gone on to holding representative honours at district, county and national levels. We as a department are also signed up to the Kent Schools Game system allowing students to participate in a variety of other sports including handball, table tennis, dance and dodgeball.

CCGS PE Vision is to have a broad, stimulating and enjoyable curriculum, that engages, motivates and challenges all pupils, giving them the knowledge, skills and understanding to grow as individuals, preparing them for the next stage in their lives. PE allows young people to become confident in their techniques, learn lifelong skills and can apply these across a range of activities, allowing their participation and achievements to be celebrated.
