Our Specialisms

As a grammar school our purpose and aim is to be good at everything, which may seem to be at odds with the specialist schools movement of the last 20 years or so.

Nevertheless the curriculum subjects where the Federation schools have secured specialist status do reflect areas of strength within our own institution, and curriculum links with other schools in and around Thanet. Our specialisms are: Languages, Maths  & Computing, Science and through Leading Edge Partner (LEP) designation we are extending outreach and hosted work with  other schools in PE/Sport, Music and English. Through the specialisms we have curriculum links with 6 secondary schools & 18  primary schools, and we are also the “hub school” for Gifted & Talented provision in Thanet.
