Specialist PE Staff;
Mr TO Richford - Head of Department (Sport & PE)
Like many of the teachers at the school, I am an old pupil who has returned as a teacher. Whilst at the school I captained the hockey 1st XI and was fortunate enough to represent England at U18 level. I currently captain and play for Canterbury Men’s Hockey Club as a defender.
Mr CR Goodwin – Deputy Headteacher
Sport has always been a passion of mine. This interest is an integral part of my life and led me to pursue a career as a PE teacher. My main sport is rugby, and I feel very lucky to have gained the honour of playing internationally for Wales at schools, youth, students, colleges and U21 levels. I was also a member of the Leicester Tigers senior squad. I enjoy participating or watching any sport and hope my enthusiasm rubs off on the students I teach.
Mr GD Wooldridge –Second in Department (Sport & PE)
I have always loved taking part and watching sport where possible. Growing up I played for my county in both rugby and hockey and was lucky enough to play at Twickenham whilst representing South West England. During school PE was the lesson I always looked forward to due to the competitive nature and the efforts my teachers put into both lessons and extra-curricular - this is something I hope to recreate in my own teaching as lead teacher of boy’s games.
Mrs LA Morgan – Head of Girls (Sports & PE)
I run the junior coaching at Cliftonville Hockey Club for those aged between 6-16 and am also a qualified hockey umpire. I am a qualified Football Association Coach and have taken on the lead role in girls’ football at the school. I have taken a lead role in adapting the dance scheme of work and have received a positive response from the students to the street dance we are all performing!
Mrs KH Rockall – Head of House (Rothschild-Pearce Upper School)
I was a National Gymnast and county Hockey player and have continued to represent them for 10 Years. I now play hockey for Folkestone Hockey Club in the 1st XI in the East of England league and have been an U18 county boys selector. I have been teaching for 10 years and really enjoy teaching GCSE PE and have now taken on a new role as a Head of House after being Head of PE for 4 years.
